AISI 4142

AISI 4142

Alloy steels comprise a spectrum of steels whose compositions include the elements Ni, Si, Va, C, Mo, Cr, Mn, and B which have been fixed for carbon steels. These steels are more responsive to mechanical and heat treatments than carbon steels.

Iron, Fe ≥ 96.725
Chromium, Cr 0.80-1.10
Manganese, Mn 0.75-1.10
Carbon, C 0.40-0.45
Silicon, Si 0.15-0.30
Molybdenum, Mo 0.15-0.25
Sulfur, S ≤ 0.040
Phosphorous, P ≤ 0.035
